My Dog Life

On a recent weekend morning, my mom got brave and loaded up all three of us dogs into her car and took us to the park…by herself. Joey and I haven’t walked on leash much together — and we were just plain terrible at it in the city — and Lady is new to walking on leash all together. Nonetheless, we headed to the park for a walk together. 

Lady borrowed my no-pull harness and I toughed it out with just a collar and leash. In just the first couple minutes out of the car, we quickly became a tangled mess…mostly thanks to me having to do my business right out the gate. So my mom let me roam off leash so she could focus on Lady and Joey first. I trailed behind and enjoyed the freedom. Lady and Joey got into a nice rhythm together right away. My mom was impressed! She decided to add me into the mix and leashed me back up. 

It took us a minute but we soon settled into a nice little pack! We walked at a nice pace and stuck together without being too spread our or tangled up. We even encountered a barky dog coming from the opposite direction and kept our cool. Turns out walking with a pack is pretty fun BUT I’d still rather go off leash as much as possible.
